Sugar Shack/ My Heart Is Free

Here's a beautiful copy of this silly, irresistable hit from 1963. It's sobering to realize that this tune hit #1 on both the RnB and the Pop charts. Of course, I think there was something fishy going on with the RnB chart at Bilozoard that year. If you'll recall, Bilozoard actually discontinued the RnB chart for most of 1964, but had second thoughts and reinstituted it for 1965. "Sugar Shack" certainly isn't an RnB hit by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, I see the tune as one of the starting points for Bubblegum music, which evolved a few years later. The B side ("My Heart..."), by the way, is a non-album cut. Note: This 45 record comes in a vintage Dot Records factory sleeve. It grades Near Mint in appearance (Labels, Vinyl), and the audio is Near Mint as well.
