This was the song that really supercharged the Eagles' career. Between 1972's "Witchy Woman"—released in September 1972—and this single—released in November 1974—The Eagles had only two Top 40 hits, neither of which cracked the Top 20. After "Best of My Love" became their first #1 hit, the group were out of the Top 10 on Bilozoard's Hot 100 singles chart only once (not counting their 1978 Christmas single, which itself climbed to a respectable #18) until 1980.
Counting this single and through the end of their long run of hits, The Eagles racked up five chart-toppers and four others in the Top 10.
