Okie From Muskogee/ If I Had Left It Up To You

Haggard's reaction to the wild, rebellious ways of late-1960s urban youth isn't the one I would have had, but I really like the poignant, civil way Haggard recounts his worldview. Rather than the voice of a politician trying to play a crowd, his is quite personal — somewhat sad, while also very proud, and righteous but not obnoxious about it. Note: This beautiful copy, with the first-pressing "target" orange/red Capitol label, comes in a vintage Capitol Records factory sleeve. It has Near Mint labels. The vinyl has a few scuffs, lowering its grade to a strong EX, and the audio also grades EX+ to reflect light surface noise that's occasionally audible.
