Operation Heartbreak/ Rock-A-Bye Your Baby With A Dixie Melody

This early Aretha 45 clearly shows how Columbia was trying to split her into different compartments... The A side was a top-10 RnB hit, but didn't even place on the pop chart. The flip, however, became her first top 40 pop hit, but it didn't place on the RnB chart. Both sides are excellent, but very different, sides of Aretha's early style. Note: This copy comes in a vintage Columbia Records factory sleeve. The label has a few color flecks missing around the outer edge. "Rock-A-Bye" has almost near mint audio, and "Heartbreak"'s is EX but has a couple of grooves that "pop" near the beginning.
