From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy... pristine mint! Truly one of the greatest soul singles of 1970. How did it miss getting airplay on pop radio, then? I'm not sure, but the story I've heard is that this song is based on an old black song from the days of slavery. Still, I doubt that any of the white DJ's working in 1970 knew that, and I like to think it wouldn't have stopped many of them from playing it anyway. Whatever, here it is for everyone to enjoy today!
