Someone To Love Me/ Gates Of Heaven

From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy. Here's a fabulous single by an early singer in the budding style called "Soul" (though they were still calling iot RnB in 1958!). Like Clyde McPhatter, Jackie Wilson, Lloyd Price, Roy Hamilton, and others, he was giving his voice free reign to the gospel style of singing, but he wasn't singing about the almighty. The A side is a great uptempo number, with a slow one on the flip.
