Here's a beautiful copy of one of Joel's most popular tunes, and one of his hardest singles to find! Like "Tiny Dancer" for Elton John and "Born To Run" for Bruce Springsteen, "Piano Man" wasn't a huge hit when released but came to be one of the defining moments of the singer's career... one that everyone who loves Billy Joel must have in their collection, and there just aren't that many collectable copies floating around out there. For one thing, this was a styrene pressing (almost everything Columbia/Epic pressed was on styrene), so finding a copy like this one with undamaged grooves and pristine Mint sound is rare indeed. Oh by the way, this relatively long (for a 45) song is actually specially edited from a 5:38 album track... Making it even rarer, since you won't find the 45 edit on an LP. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Columbia Records factory sleeve. The labels have a touch of "bubbling," but the grooves preserve powerful, pristine Mint sound!
