This haunting love song is from the classic Stephen Sondheim musical A Little Night Music. It appeared originally on Collins' 1975 album, "Judith," and was released on this catalog number as a single that year, when it peaked at #36 on the U.S. singles chart. The song was re-released in 1977 on the same catalog number and climbed all the way to #19 in the fall; that release coincided with a new compilation album, "So Early In The Spring, The First 15 Years," which is credited on the 45's labels instead of "Judith." This is a beautiful reissue of the 1977 release. Note: This copy comes in a vintage Elektra Spun Gold Records factory sleeve.
