Doing It To Death/ Everybody Got Soul

From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy. I believe this is the first copy since opening the store in 2001 that I've run across a copy of this early Funk classic that has genuinely Mint audio... I mean, stone Mint. I had to celebrate by recording and putting up an mp3 "snippet" of this one, which should be required listening for anyone who wants to know where Funk came from, as one of the touchstones along the path. This is a copy of the purple label variant (a red label variant also exists); I don't know of any value difference between the two, or even which is the first or second pressing (or whether they were issued simultaneously by different pressing plants). Finally, as long as this track is for a 45 in 1973 (over 5 minutes), it's still only about half as long as the endurance marathon that is the 10:04 album version! Note: This beautiful copy has very light storage wear evident on the labels and vinyl (styrene). But it has blessedly pristine audio, a real rarity for this release.
