I'm On The Road Again/ Feeling Bad

From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed Stereo/Mono promo copy , in its original factory sleeve. How to categorize this single? Approached like the blind men to the elephant, the A side would probably be categorized as psychedelic rock, with its major fuzz-guitar opening riff and its fast-paced, shuffling rhythm. Browne's vocals are hard to describe, sounding at once like the lead singer for Fine Young Cannibals (think "She Drives Me Crazy"), another time like Freddy Fender, and yet again like Aaron Neville. Then listen to the B side and it's clear that Browne is a deep soul singer in the tradition of Percy Sledge and Joe Simon. There isn't much recorded product by Browne, who as it turns out is a British singer with a long track record, but certainly this nugget makes me want to hear more. The Watson T. Browne website has a complete discography and a short biography, plus a bunch of snapshots.
