Musical Man/ Something In The Air

From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed promo copy, in its original picture sleeve. This obscure psychedelic-rock band hailed from Philadelphia and left a handful of albums that are widely admired today by fans of the genre. On this rare single, the A side is stupendous all around with a sound that's a clear harbinger of one of the good places U.S. rock went in the 1970's. The flip is a cover of the Thunderclap Newman hit, and though it starts out sounding like a somewhat slower rendition, about halfway through the band decides it's time to rock, and rock they do... eventually returning to the song's chorus before closing. The picture sleeve is nearly perfect except for a tiny tear on the top edge.
