These tracks from Electric Ladyland were not previously released on 45 rpm. This great picture-sleeve single, pressed on clear green vinyl, is from the ten-45 box set of classic Hendrix singles released in 1998. From the liner notes to the box set, Steve Rodham calls this one a
...unique single combining two tracks that were originally recorded as one. Essentially a long jam, "Rainy Day, Dream Away" and "Still Raining, Still Dreaming" saw Jimi joined by Mike Finnigan on organ and Buddy Miles on drums, augmented by Freddie Smith's sax and Larry Faucette's congas. What ensued was an ethereal masterpiece that is often described as a jam, but trascends the connotations of that description by some distance.
