This is one of the seminal singles in the genesis of what's known as Garage Rock. Surprisingly (and disappointingly to fans of this and the group's next blockbuster, "All The Day And All Of The Night"), the group abandoned garage rock almost as soon as they had helped get it off the ground. Oh well, no problem. Just give me "You Really Got Me" any time you like! Be sure to also cherish the grungy B side rocker, which as it turns out is a non-album cut. This is the first pressing with the label name in a white/black box at the top (see scan). Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Reprise Records factory sleeve. It has Near Mint labels. The vinyl looks almost untouched, and the audio sounds very close to Mint.
