From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in its original factory sleeve. I can't remember how these great tracks from the Who's three-album
Quadrophenia opus from 1973 got released on this Polydor single in 1979. (Oh yeah, that's right... they made a movie based on Quadrophenia that year...) What's even more amazing is that 5:15 climbed all the way to #45, much higher than the first single from Quadrophenia, "Love, Reign O'er Me", managed to do (only to #76). Whatever, it's great to hear these tracks again... Whatever happened to my vinyl copy of
Quadrophenia, anyway? Even greater than the tracks is Keith Moon's drumming... man, he was the best! Just listen to what he does to those skins toward the end of "I'm One!" *Whew!*
