This is a very interesting and unusual Rolling Stones single. To quote from the Wikipedia article about the song:\r\n
[The song "Out Of Time"] was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Mick Jagger produced a version for Chris Farlowe, [which was a big U.K. hit for Farlowe in 1966]. It is distinctively known for its different versions. The first version appeared on the UK version of 1966's
Aftermath and featured a marimba part played by Brian Jones. The song was 5:37 long. Then it appeared in the US on 1967's
Flowers as a shorter version. It then appeared on the 1975 ABKCO compilation album
Metamorphosis. This version was, in fact, the backing track from the Chris Farlowe version, only with a Mick Jagger lead vocal. [The Abkco version] was also released as a single, reaching #45 in the UK. [and #81 in the U.S.]
\r\nThe B side of this single is quite a good rocker recorded during the
Sticky Fingers sessions.
