God, I love this one... I always picture a bunch of Scotsmen playing electric guitars instead of bagpipes! Unlike the group's mid-1970s hits, though, this one definitely veers toward Metal Bubblegum, and Noddy Holder doesn't sound as fierce as he once did. Whatever you think of it, one fact is undeniable: Slade finally managed to get a single into the U.S. Top 40 with "Run Runaway"! This after having been ignored Stateside during their run of 12 consecutive Top 10 hits in the U.K. during 1971-74. Of those hits, 6 topped the chart over there:\r\n
\r\n- Coz I Luv You (Oct 1971)
\r\n- Take Me Bak 'Ome (Jun 1972)
\r\n- Mama Weer All Crazee Now (Sep 1972)
\r\n- Cum On Feel The Noize (Mar 1973)
\r\n- Skweeze Me Pleeze Me (Jun 1973)
\r\n- Merry Xmas Everybody (Dec 1973)
