Tumbling Dice/ Sweet Black Angel

One of my absolute favorite rock songs of all time, and near the top of the list of my favorite Stones singles. An exaggerated opinion, perhaps, but there it is. Keith Richards' opening guitar riff, followed by Charlie Watts' drum pattern, and then Jagger & his girls wordlessly starting up, somehow aligns perfectly with some personal vibration of mine. :-) Note that even though the label on this issue says "Mono", the recording is actually in stereo. Collector Geek Alert: The label typography on this copy is one of several variations that were released... for example, here the word "Mono" is on the left rather than the right, as it is on other copies. I'm not aware of any difference in collectibility among these variations. Note: This copy comes in a vintage Atlantic/Atco Group Records factory sleeve. The labels are Near Mint, with a touch of outer-ringwear (doesn't show in the scan). The vinyl has enough light scuff marks — typically clustered near the beginning of the track — to lower the grade to a strong EX. I'm grading the audio Near Mint, because it would grade pristine except for a few bits of light surface noise near the beginning of each side; the noise quickly wanes, and the underlying audio is clean and undistorted.
