Golden Years/ Can You Hear Me

From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in its original RCA factory sleeve. This is one of Bowie's absolutely essential singles, and you'll find that it's an edited version about half a minute shorter than the album cut. (Ditto my earlier comments about the advantages of edited versions — in addition to what I said earlier, remember that it was the (edited) 45 version that became the hit that you remember from the radio!) Chart Nerd Alert: In the 1970s, Bowie released some of the very best music of his career, but he only had two Top 10 U.S. hit singles — "Fame" (a chart-topper from earlier in 1975) and "Golden Years" (which peaked at #10). His career would take off even more strongly after 1983's hit album "Let's Dance," and he had four Top 10 U.S. hits in the 1980s (oh, all right: "Let's Dance," "China Girl," "Blue Jean," and "Dancing in the Street" (w/Mick Jagger). Note: This beautiful copy has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).
