Philadelphia Freedom/ I Saw Her Standing There

Not appearing on any of his studio albums, this 45 was one of Elton's tributes to the then-dominant "Sound of Philadelphia," featuring string arrangements by Gene Page. It was one of a handful of singles that also found airplay in the Black radio market. The song was also dedicated to Billy Jean King and her team, the Philadelphia Freedoms. Credited to "The Elton John Band." Note that the flip also features a duet with John Lennon. This is a new copy of the light-blue-sky with rainbow MCA label (second pressing), in its factory sleeve.
