This is a new, unplayed promo copy from the

collection, in its original Chess/Checker/Cadet factory sleeve. I fell in love with the A side dancer right away, and even made an mp3 snippet for our jukebox (have a listen)! The A side is 180 degrees away in mood, but it too is a mesmerizing winner you won't want to miss. These were Denise LaSalle's first recordings; they had first been released, earlier in 1967, on the small Tarpon label, and Chess apparently picked up her contract based on that single. Have a listen to the mp3 snippet, and you'll understand why! Despite Chess' faith in LaSalle, it would still be 4 years before she found a national audience with her first hit on the Motown-derived Westbound label, "Trapped By A Thing Called Love." Note: Except for a tiny white stain at the left of the A side label (see scan), the labels are flawless. The vinyl looks flawless at first glance, but it has a slight, oddly shaped warp that lowers the grade to Near Mint. (Our test turntable was able to navigate the warp without incident, returning pristine audio, but if you've had problems with mild warps in the past on your turntable, this one could cause you trouble unless you adjust your turntable's tonearm weight settings.) Discounting some very light native vinyl surface noise, inaudible on the A side and only faintly audible at times on the flip, I find the audio to be Mint overall.
