From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy of the original Eric release. The ultimate beach music single from this legendary band, one of the first interracial U.S. bands from the south. Originally released on Smash 2161 in 1968, this Eric issue was commissioned to meet demand from the U.K. northern soul market, where it was a huge hit. (This, according to Kev Roberts, who lists the song at #80 in his list of the 500 greatest northern soul singles.) Extremely hard to find, and long out of print... but well worth the search! Note: Some of these copies have faint storage wear on the labels, which grade Near Mint.
