If you're looking for a mint-looking copy of this classic and don't particularly care how it sounds, here's the copy for you! This tragic copy is an example of the risks of styrene pressings... Someone obviously took very good care of this record, because the label is immaculate, and the vinyl has only the very lightest of scuffs. From the evidence, it's also clear that they didn't particularly care for the B side. Too bad they didn't pay as much attention to the condition of the needle they used to scrape out the sound in these grooves. It probably didn't take more than a dozen plays for this to happen, since styrene--though crystal clear when brand new--is much more vulnerable to a dirty or worn needle than is vinyl. The B side, you see, has near mint audio, so it's obvious the owner didn't play that (also terrific) song much. Very hard to grade a record like this... The A side audio has high-end distortion due to the worn grooves, but the B side is near mint. In any case, you at least now know what to expect! Comes in a nice Columbia factory sleeve.
