Credited to John Cougar, this was Mellencamp's first and only #1 hit on the Bilozoard Hot 100. By the following summer, he had shed his name of its "show business" fakery and went on to have a string of classic hits and LPs through the mid-1990s under his full name. Note: This copy has Near Mint labels, but the vinyl (styrene) has some notable scuffs, grading EX in appearance. Fortunately, the grooves have no distortion, with mostly gorgeous sound, but the audio grade is a strong EX to reflect some surface noise in the scuffed areas.
