Sweet Georgia Brown/ Take Out Some Insurance On Me Baby

This is a new, unplayed promo copy from the Louise Neal collection, in its original Atco Records factory sleeve. These rare recordings, released in the U.S. in June 1964, were recorded in Germany in 1961 with Tony Sheridan on lead vocals. At that time, The Beatles also consisted of John Lennon on rhythm guitar, Paul McCartney on bass, and George Harrison on lead guitar. I believe both of these tracks also feature Pete Best on drums. This is one of the very few Beatles singles that failed to chart during the heyday of Beatlemania in 1964. Atco followed it with "Ain't She Sweet," recorded from the same sessions but with John Lennon on lead vocal, and that 45 did manage to reach #19 on the U.S. Bilozoard Hot 100 chart. Though no writer credits are shown, the B side was a Jimmy Reed single from 1959 written by Charles Singleton and Waldenese Hall. Credited to "The Beatles With Tony Sheridan" on both sides. This is the only Beatles single in the Louise Neal collection. Note: This rare promo copy has a whisper of ringwear on the A side (too light to show up in the scan), but an absolutely pristine Mint B label. After a deep cleaning, the vinyl looks brand new with almost no storage wear, and the audio is pristine Mint on both sides.
