Nadine/ O Rangutang

Man, this is a hard single to find! This is only the fourth nice copy I've had since opening Classic 45s in late 2001. I'm not sure why that is, because "Nadine" was a pretty big hit at the time—Berry's first after serving time for tax evasion. In his comeback, he racked up 5 hits in 1964, but "Nadine" hasn't retained the luster of some of those other 1964 classics, such as "Promised Land" or "You Never Can Tell." Still, it's at #661 on the Dave Marsh list, making it well worth the search. This is the rare pressing on the "old" blue Chess label with silver print (this design was used intermittently through 1964 as pressing plants used up their old label stock). Note: This copy has light wear on the labels and vinyl, which grade Near Mint. The audio is affected by very light surface noise right at the beginning (have a listen to the mp3 file in our "jukebox"), but the rest of the track is Near Mint.
