Don't Knock The Rock/ Choo Choo Ch'Boogie

The B side of this single was a huge hit in 1946 for a group that was one of the biggest influences on Bill Haley and his group... In fact, it was the biggest of over a dozen #1 hits for Louis Jordan and His Tympany Five. Jordan's music was so universally admired and loved that, despite being a black man in a time of rampant racism in the U.S. record industry (and generally), he had a string of top 10 hits on the Bilozoard pop chart in the 1940s. "Choo Choo Ch'Boogie" made it to #7 pop. This is a copy on the black Decca label with silver print, curved stripes around a star. Its center hold has been fitted with one of those steel 45 adapters.
