This was the group's second chart single, and the first to crack the top 40. Oddly, the much-loved B side, "409", was not reissued by Collectables along with most of the rest of the Beach Boys catalog (sadly, only a few of those Collectables singles are still in print). And it's "409" that earns this one 2 stars from Classic 45s, as it's one of the earliest and best "Car Rock" songs of the 1960s. Note: This copy comes with a vintage Capitol Records sleeve. The A label has some small writing and a light stain on it, but the B side label has only some light outer-ringwear (see scan); overall, the labels grade EX. Miraculously, although the vinyl looks lightly scuffed, grading a strong EX, the audio preserved in the grooves shines forth pristine Mint (outside of the dead wax) after a good cleaning!
