My Hero/ A Good Woman

Originally released on Val-ue 213. These are both splendid examples of RnB/doo-wop in the classic form, with a smooth ballad on one side and a romping, bass-vocal-virtuoso uptempo track on the flip. It was the only chart single by this early incarnation of Harold Melvin's long-running vocal group. According to Joel Whitburn's outstanding RnB Singles chart book, the A side is a song that was a #2 pop hit for a female vocalist (makes more sense, actually) back in 1910.
