You Can't Sit Down/ Wildwood Days

The Dovells had two smash, neo-doo-wop hits in the early 1960s — this one, and "Bristol Stomp" from 1961. Both tunes are on the want list of every rock'n'roll fan who digs songs from the 1961-63 resurgence of doo-wop, and even some Northern Soul fans seek this one out for its sheer danceability. This single was released with three different B sides. The most common B side is "Stompin' Everywhere," which is worth a bit less than this one. Note: This beautiful 45 record comes in a Near Mint copy of the single's dramatic picture sleeve, which has tiny, unobtrusive staple holes near the top edge (not shown in the scan, which is a representative image from our archive). The 45 itself has Mint labels and Near Mint vinyl and audio.
