442 Glenwood Avenue/ Cold Cold Winter

This great Girl Group single first got airplay for its "B" (according to the matrix numbers) side in December 1963. But in a few weeks, radio programmers began spinning the "A" side ("442"), and that tune ultimately did better on the Bilozoard Hot 100... though neither side got the airplay they deserved. "442 Glenwood Avenue" is a must-own slice of the Girl Group sound, which was at its peak in 1963. By the way, "Winter" is a non-album cut that's missing from their only LP. Note: This beautiful copy has a drillhole and comes in a vintage Mercury Records factory sleeve. The vinyl (styrene) has a few light scuffs but grades Near Mint overall. The audio sounds pristine, though I did hear one or two instances of light surface noise on "Glenwood".
