This is a new, unplayed promo copy from the
Louise Neal 45 Collection, in its original Atlantic Records factory sleeve. This was Carter's first great single for Atlantic after a few fine ones on Fame. Still recorded in Muscle Shoals and produced by Rick Hall... like Aretha's first Atlantic single! The A side is essential Clarence Carter, and the B side is strongly recommended. This is a very rich single if you're a fan of Funky and/or Deep Soul ("Southern Soul" I like to call it). (Although some Northern Soul fans even claim "Fox" as one of their own!) Note: This rare promo copy's labels are close enough to perfect I'm grading them Mint... simply gorgeous! The vinyl looks untouched but has faint storage wear and isn't perfectly flat (I don't consider it "warped"). Fortunately, what really counts is as Mint as can be: The audio is simply stunning, both sides! (I just listened to the recordings I had made in 2005 from a previous nice copy that sold, and it's obvious I'm going to have to make new recordings from this copy when it goes!)
