The Poor People of Paris/ Theme From 'Helen Of Troy'

Do you realize that this single, which was #1 for 6 straight weeks back in 1956, ranks at #32 in a list of the 100 biggest hits of the rock era from 1955-1989? Indeed, the melody is so immediately familiar and ingratiating, it became instant TV theme show fodder (though I can't remember which show at the moment). This copy is very close to Mint and came to us in its original crispy Capitol factory sleeve. This classic instrumental, which was recorded in 1954 as a French tune called "La Goualante du Pauvre Jean", or "Jean's Song," is one for the ages!
