Originally released on Bell 45318. Stereo/Mono promo copy. Here's the song that started the whole yellow-ribbon-for-homecoming Americans tradition. Yes, the tradition had some earlier roots, but this is the song that popularized the idea for a whole generation. I don't know how Arista Records came to re-release this 1973 chart-topper in 1978, at a time when Orlando & Dawn were under contract to Elektra Records, but I do know the release is pretty uncommon (this is the first time I've run across it). Note: This beautiful promo copy comes in a vintage Arista Records factory sleeve.
