From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in its original black MCA factory sleeve. This was John's first #1 hit in the U.S. Note the unusual early MCA label. This great single features two of the best tracks from the then-forthcoming (and frankly somewhat disappointing) album, "Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only The Piano Player." It would be the last Elton single for quite awhile that didn't feature a non-album cut on the B side. Collector Nerd Alert: This is a second pressing from 1973, to satisfy demand for this big hit. It is nearly identical to the first pressing but is missing "Stereo" on the labels and corrects "Recorded in England" to "Recorded in France." Note: This beautiful copy has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).
