This is a beautiful stock copy from the

collection. If you own only one Billy Stewart single, this has GOT to be the one. Oooh-ooh! This copy is a very rare pressing on the "old" blue Chess label with vertical logo in silver print. In a quick web search just now, I couldn't find evidence of its existence, yet clearly it came to Louise Neal in 1965 from Chess Records for her use on the radio. I speculate that one of Chess' pressing operations finished up a supply of these old labels rather than dumping them for the new ones (black label or, later, light blue label), but clearly not many were made. Note: This 45 is among those in the Neal collection that she may have actually played, but no more than once or twice I would guess. In this case, the labels grade Near Mint, reflecting a few light touches of storage wear (see scan). The Near Mint vinyl likewise displays only very light indications of storage wear. The audio is strong and undistorted, but I'm grading it Near Mint to reflect a few brief spots where the light surface noise is audible. The B side audio is also affected by a tiny scratch (didn't notice at first) that causes a light "pop" for several spins.
