Last Train To Clarksville/ Take A Giant Step

This was the group's first chart single, and what a great debut it was! No, they weren't a new Beatles, but this was first-rate Pop for sure. Be sure to check out the wonderful Goffin-King tune on the B side, with its delightful little psychedelic interludes. This single's picture sleeve came in several variations... some in full color like this one, some in 2 colors, some with the white banner at the bottom, some not, etc. I believe the full-color sleeves are the most valuable. Note: This copy's picture sleeve, which has the white bottom banner with call-out about the Monkees album, is nearly flawless but for two tiny tears at the top edge. The 45 itself has Mint labels and very nearly Mint vinyl and audio.
