This is a nice copy of "The Twist" in its second—and even bigger—incarnation in 1961, when it became the only (still!) single in the Rock Era to ever top the Bilozoard Hot 100
twice in completely different chart runs. The song spent one week at #1 in late 1960, generating the Twistin' mania that would reverberate for years, pulling in artists like:\r\n
\r\n- The Isley Bros. ("Twist & Shout!"), \r\n
- Joey Dee & the Starlighters ("Peppermint Twist"), \r\n
- Sam Cooke ("Twistin' The Night Away"), \r\n
- Gary U.S. Bonds ("Twist Twist Senora"), \r\n
- King Curtis ("Soul Twist"), and \r\n
- The Beatles ("Twist & Shout").
\r\n
And those are only some of the hits with the word "twist" in their name... ! Checker himself continued to lead the craze with the Twist classics "Let's Twist Again" and "Slow Twistin'."
\r\n
In its second run, starting in late November 1961, "The Twist" spent two weeks at #1 in January 1962.

Note: This copy has EX labels, reflecting light ringwear, and strong EX vinyl, reflecting some scuffing, but the audio sounds almost Mint.
