Venus/ Hot Sand

Here's a beautiful copy of this amazing record from 1969. What with the 1986 remake by Bananarama, I don't there's anyone out there who doesn't know the tune. This original by the Dutch band Shocking Blue may surprise the Bananarama crowd, because it's raw, fresh power pop rather than made-to-order synth pop, but hey, both versions hit #1 because the song itself is so good. And with this copy, you get the gorgeous picture sleeve, with its great picture of lead singer Mariska Veres & the boys. Mariska is one of the few female lead singers who had the ability to do the hard-rock scream that many guys do so well... you know, "Waaoooww!" Note: This 45 record has Near Mint labels with a small sticker on the A side. and, despite some notable scuffing on the vinyl (styrene), the audio is Near Mint as well. The picture sleeve is nearly flawless!
