Fame/ Right

Originally released in the U.S. on RCA 10152. "Fame" was Bowie's first single from his great soul record, Young Americans. Besides hosting his his biggest U.S. hit, the album contained one of two tracks that achieved the rare privilege of scoring on the Black/RnB chart too. The flip is another strong soul/funk track. Note that the A side features backing vocals by John Lennon, who was also a cowriter on the song. This single was apparently part of a 1983 British compilation of Bowie singles, David Bowie Lifetimes. On the single, production credits differ from those on the U.S. single. The A side is produced by David Bowie & Harry Maslin, and the B side by Harry Maslin and Tony Visconti.
