A Certain Girl/ Empty-Handed Heart

From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in its original Elektra/Asylum factory sleeve. It's hard to believe that this guy only managed (so far) 2 forays into the Bilozoard Hot 100... "Werewolves of London" and this one here. The A side is a terrific cover of the old Ernie K-Doe number, but the star is the gorgeous love ballad on the flip side. A brilliant piece, it's a great example of why this guy is so admired by fellow songwriters and musicians, and why those who admire him puzzle over his relative lack of commercial success.
