Stereo/Mono promo copy. This terrific 1973 hit is a perfect example of how a Motown- and Philly-style Soul sound morphed into what became known as Disco. But at this early date, it was just another Motown soundalike with a bit more percussion than usual. An essential touchstone in early 1970s Soul music history. Collector Nerd Alert: Oddly, since by 1973 most U.S. retail 45s were released in Stereo, the retail release for this tune has a Mono mix, and I believe this rare promo is the only place you can get a true Stereo mix on 45 rpm vinyl, which is terrific!
