From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in its original Warner/Reprise factory sleeve. Unlike 99% of U.S. 45 releases, this one does not show a songwriter credit for "Cool." I assume the credit is the same as that for producer: Morris Day and Jamie Starr. This was the Prince spin-off group's second Top 10 hit on the Black/RnB Bilozoard chart, and the first to register on the Pop chart. The A side is specially edited from a much longer (10:06) album track.
