Like me, you've probably forgotten this big #1 hit from 1974, part of Cher's "I'm a Gypsy" phase. The lyrics are in the mold of the storytelling that was popular then... from Harry Chapin to Vicky Lawrence and Jim Stafford. But the music is pure, rocking pop... quite delightful, really. There is a touch of surface noise in the quiet intro. Note: This copy comes in a vintage MCA Records factory sleeve.
