Originally released on ABC 11272. This, the group's first single to crack the Hot 100, was a new version of Funk #48, which they released the previous year on Bluesway. Both are to-die-for classics of guitar rock, showcases for Joe Walsh. This reissue presents Stereo versions of the tracks, which is unfortunate because the original Mono mixes are so powerful. Though it shows no track times, I've determined that this is also the album version of the track, which is about 20 seconds longer than the edited-for-45 version. Part of the difference is that the "percussion" interlude with band shouts was blissfully shortened for the 45, and the 45 edit fades out more of the repetitive ending from the album track. This is a like-new copy of the out-of-print Collectables reissue, in its Collectables sleeve.
