Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting/ Jack Rabbit - Whenever You're Ready (We'll Go Steady Again)

One of Elton John's finest rockers, "Saturday Night's Alright" was the first single from his double-album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. It was released a couple of months before the album, which is why there's no mention of it on the 45 label. I guess this actually qualifies as an EP since the B side has two—count 'em TWO—songs, both unreleased non-LP cuts and both well worth the price of admission! "Jack Rabbit" is actually a guitar-led, country rocker that's quite different from anything he ever recorded. Both of the B-side songs are outtakes from the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road sessions. (The two tracks eventually made their way onto the 1980 compilation album Lady Samantha.) Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage MCA Records factory sleeve. It grades very close to Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio). (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)
