This was John's first U.S. chart single, though it barely scraped the top 100. Aretha Franklin's cover did much better. Also note the very powerful rocker on the B side with great orchestration by Paul Buckmaster; this is a non-LP cut... the first of many to be featured on Elton John 45's.
