Viewed as a novelty single when it hit the charts in 1969, "Israelites" proved to be one of the most enduring pure Reggae classics and as a groundbreaker that opened the doors to the Jamaican music in the U.S. The track is the work of legendary Reggae producer Leslie Kong. I finally gave in to its infectious rhythms and made an mp3 "snippet" for our "jukebox"... This copy has such great audio it seemed only appropriate to celebrate it, so enjoy! By the way, the writer credited as "Dacris" is Desmond Dekker. I believe the B side is a non-album cut. Note: This beautiful copy comes in a vintage Uni factory sleeve. It grades very close to mint in all respects. For example, the audio is pristine Mint except for one tiny "pop" near the beginning... check out the mp3 "snippet" of it.
