God, I love this song. Hard to believe it's a Bacharach-David tune! Manfred Mann had done a straightforward version earlier, and this Psych Rock interpretation is a thing of beauty. Note: This beautiful copy looks very close to Mint (Labels, Vinyl). The A-side audio sounds Mint (I heard no distortion and no surface noise). The B side audio has some surface noise that's notable early in the track but fades to the background once the band kicks in. (This scan is a representative image from our archives.)
