Sixteen Tons/ You Don't Have To Be A Baby To Cry

Here's a beautiful copy of this classic single from the dawn of the Rock 'n' Roll era... the finest I've yet run across. Ford is a country artist, sure, but he also pioneered the boogie beat in that market, and "Sixteen Tons" is a working man's blues, just like that of many of the rockabilly youngsters who followed in its wake. The flip is another terrific performance and great song. By the way, this was a non-album single. Note: This copy comes in a vintage Capitol Records factory sleeve. It has Near Mint labels and nearly untouched-looking vinyl. The audio grades Near Mint with just a touch of surface noise.
