Janis Ian

Janis Ian is an American singer-songwriter whose music primarily encompasses folk, pop, and rock genres. She first rose to prominence in the mid-1960s with the controversial hit song "Society's Child," which tackled interracial relationships. Ian is perhaps best known for her 1975 single "At Seventeen," a commentary on teenage angst and social inequality that won her a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Her poignant lyricism and emotive vocal delivery have made her a significant figure in the folk music scene.
